How much does SpareKitchen cost?

Accepted Answer

No £200 minimum, no joining fee. Vendors pay a flat 8% fee added on top of the rent at checkout — no minimum, no joining fee, no subscription. Hosts list for free (0% fee) and receive the full rent. Your first booking as a vendor is fee-free. Example: a £25/hr kitchen for a 6-hour shift is £150 rent + £12 fee, so the vendor pays £162 and the host gets £150.

How quickly can I start cooking?

If a kitchen has instant book and your documents are verified, you can book and start on the next available slot. Otherwise the host confirms your request — usually within a day.

Question 3

What documents do I need as a vendor?

Accepted Answer

A food hygiene rating, Level 2 Food Safety certificates, public liability insurance and allergen information. Upload them once to your document vault and reuse them for every booking.

Question 4

When do hosts get paid?

Accepted Answer

Automatically, every week, via Stripe Connect. There’s no monthly management fee and no minimum.

Question 5

Can I book just a few shifts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many kitchens are available hourly, daily or by shift — not just long licences. You’ll see each kitchen’s available hours on its listing.

Question 6

Are deposits refundable?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Deposits are held securely and returned after your booking, assuming the kitchen is left as found.
